The qualification course is 38 rounds. The minimum passing score is 33 points. Hits in the 4 and 5 scoring area (torso and head) count as 1 point each. Bring a holster and spare magazine or speedloader. NO SHOULDER HOLSTERS, POCKET HOLSTERS, OR CROSSDRAW HOLSTERS PLEASE. No 5-Shot Revolvers are allowed. If you need to borrow a 6-shot Revolver and speedloader check that option when you register. Once you've qualified with a 6-Shot you can carry a 5-Shot under the LEOSA law.
For retired Law Enforcement Officers and certain other qualified persons, Ex Umbra Defense Solutions delivers the qualification course that qualifies you to carry concealed nationwide under the federal Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act - LEOSA (aka HR218). We schedule several sessions a month for your convenience. The fee for the course is $55.00, which includes range fees. We can provide a semi-automatic pistol or 6-shot revolver and speedloader for an additional $10.00 fee.
As of 1 July 2024, the LEOSA course for Florida has changed.
